A Well-Maintained Wheel Will Last A Lifetime One
of the undoubtedly most important components of a bicycle is the component that
meets the Earth: the wheel. To get the most out of your road or mountain biking experience, you need dependable and
high performance wheels. This requires a wheel that is has good rolling performance and is able to withstand the
stresses that come with your style of cycling.
Machine-built wheels are found on the vast majority of new bicycles nowadays. Much of the time, these wheels will become out of true within the first thousand miles of riding, and you will notice wobbling or one part of a wheel's rim will rub against a brake pad during each wheel rotation. Sometimes a spoke will break which will put an end to your journey and require a trip to a local bicycle mechanic. If a wheel is serviced by a competent bicycle mechanic or, even better, rebuilt by hand, the only thing that will send the wheel out of true is a significant accident. A wheel built by John Bickelhaupt will stay perfectly true through rocky trails, racing hard around curves, or cycling thousands of miles.
